Municipality of Kallithea
The Project
Following Call No. 18214/29.09.2020 (ADA: Ω1Λ46ΜΤΛ6-Ρ76) of the “Antonis Tritsis” Programme (Priority Axis “Environment”) entitled “Separate Collection of Bio-waste, Recycling Corners and Waste Transfer Stations”, as amended and in force, the Municipality of Kallithea submitted application No. 12669/24.03.2021 for the inclusion and funding of a Technical Project Sheet entitled: “Actions for the separate collection and transport of generated urban bio-waste and the creation of Smart, Energy-Autonomous Recycling Corners to promote the Circular Economy in the Municipality of Kallithea”.
By document No. 5214/2021 of 29/06/2022 of the Special Management and Implementation Service of the Ministry of the Interior (EYDE YPES), on the subject “Inclusion of the Municipality of Kallithea project entitled ‘Actions for the Separate Collection and Transport of Generated Urban Bio-waste and the Creation of Smart, Energy-Autonomous Recycling Corners to Promote the Circular Economy in the Municipality of Kallithea’ in the ANTONIS TRITSIS Programme”, the above Technical Project Sheet was approved and the Municipality of Kallithea received the relevant funding.
Funding
The project was financed through an investment loan granted by the Deposits and Loans Fund, contracted through a loan agreement between the Municipality of Kallithea and the Deposits and Loans Fund. Repayment will be made from resources of the Public Investment Programme (PIP) of the Ministry of the Interior.
The funded Actions comprised a total of three (3) Sections (Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3) and eight (8) Sub-projects. Section 3 included the “Smart, Energy-Autonomous Recycling Corners” (Sub-project 2). It concerned the installation and operation of fifteen (15) Recycling Corners at schools and/or sports facilities and/or other infrastructure of the Municipality of Kallithea. These Recycling Corners incorporate modern environmental and energy requirements, as they derive from EU and national strategies for the Environment, Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving.
In addition, Section 3 also includes the smart, integrated actions of information, communication and awareness-raising for citizens — of which this website forms part.
